50 Affordable homes at Lostock Hall

Work has started at The Weavers, Avondale Drive, Lostock Hall. Continuing our successful collaborative working with Westchurch homes, we will be developing 50, one, two, three and four-bed homes, 24 for affordable rent and 26 for shared ownership.

The Weavers will be Community Gateway’s first shared ownership development in South Ribble, helping to broaden our current housing offer in the South Ribble area. The development will include communal landscaped areas across the site and each home will benefit from off road parking and gardens. The homes will be handed over in stages with the full development due to be completed in November 2024.

Craig Garner, Executive Director of Resources at Community Gateway said:

"Following the successful development of 126 affordable properties in Preston and Fylde with Westchurch Homes, we are looking forward to working together to develop a further 50 homes in Lostock Hall. This is also a development which will include CGA’s first shared ownership homes in South Ribble. We are delighted to be delivering another project which contributes to our objective of building new homes in areas where people want to live."

Councillor Jacqui Mort, said:

The first step has been taken to build 50 safe and affordable high quality homes and rejuvenate a derelict site in Lostock Hall.  After consultation with local residents Westchurch Homes will deliver a mix of rent and buy properties which will improve quality of life, help local demand and reduce pressure to build on our greenfield sites."

Oliver Chan, Business Development Manager at Westchuch Homes said:

"Westchurch are delighted to get this scheme on site and start the construction of 50 affordable homes for Community Gateway. This is our third site with Community Gateway and once completed will bring the total number of affordable homes we have collaboratively delivered to 176."
