Grand Opening at The Watermills

We were delighted to formally opened our latest independent living development for the over 60s, The Watermills in Broughton last week.

Situated at the heart of Broughton village, The Watermills comprises 52 high-quality one and two-bedroom apartments for affordable rent, meaning they are priced at 80% of local market rents.

The Watermills offers a new style of living for the over 60s: a home for life for those who don’t want to live in traditional sheltered accommodation, but still want to feel safe and secure, living around people of a similar age. The apartments are flexibly designed to meet everybody’s needs, with plenty of storage and generously sized rooms – ideal for the downsizer or for those moving from a similar-sized home.

The apartments provide comfortable private space for residents, who can also take advantage of a shared lounge to enjoy a coffee with friends plus beautiful landscaped outdoor spaces, as well as community amenities and great transport links.

Chief Executive, Rob Wakefield, cut a ribbon to mark the occasion, before welcoming guests, including local Parish Councillors, to take a tour of the development.

Rob commented: “The Watermills is an exciting addition to the local area, offering hi-spec accommodation in a very desirable area. The quality in terms of the build and finish really will provide a great environment for people over 60 to have a wonderful home.”

New tenant, Mrs Williams, added: “It’s marvellous. The walk-in shower and wet-room mean I can have the bathroom to myself for the first time in a long time. We’ll be all settled in time for Christmas, and will enjoy living close to my son.”

There are two Open Events next week - on Saturday 18th November from 11an to 2pm and on Wednesday 22nd from 5pm to 7pm. There's no need to book - just drop in for coffee, cake and a look around!
