Preston Vocational Centre Learners Get a Taste of On-Site Life
As part of National Apprenticeship Week (5th-11th Feb), students were given a tour of the site and had the chance to meet apprentices working there.
Lancashire County Councillor, Barrie Yates, who met the learners on site, said: “It is encouraging to see so many young people taking up the building trade. It was great to see Persimmon employing and supporting young people in apprenticeships in a variety of trades across construction.”
Anthony Mansfield, Persimmon Managing Director for Lancashire and Cumbria, said: ‘It’s great to be able to host Councillor Yates and learners from Preston Vocational Centre.
“We’re proud of the relationships we have with Preston Vocational Centre here in Preston helping young people develop the skills they need to embark upon one of the many fulfilling careers construction has to offer.”
