How to celebrate the Bank Holiday weekend on lockdown

We may have nowhere to go, but there’s still plenty to do and different ways to enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend, here are a few things you can do!

Binge-watch your favourite movies or shows

Why not catch up on your favourite movie or show or even discover something new. You can also set up virtual watch parties with friends and family.

Take a virtual tour of Museums, Zoos, and Theme Parks

A huge number of art galleries museums and zoos around the world have digitised their collections and are now offering free virtual tours. From a quick Google search you could be touring the Louvre, visiting the Seven Wonders of the World or seeing what the giraffes are up to at the London Zoo.

Catch up with friends and family virtually

We can still see our family and friends, thanks to the power of technology. Zoom, Skype, Houseparty and Google Hangouts are just a few ways to catch up with loved ones during the lockdown, so why not plan a virtual quiz this weekend.

Learn a new skill

Keeping our minds active is really important, so whether you turn your hand to arts and crafts, sewing, or learning a new language. There are lots of free downloadable materials online and YouTube is a great place to start, with step by step guides, advice and free courses.

Have a spring clean

Why not spend the weekend re-organising your cupboards and draws, or attempt one of those cleaning hacks you’ve been meaning to try. If you don't know where to start, check out the Good Housekeeping’s best tips and tricks for easy home cleaning.

Try out a new recipe

Why not try out a new recipe this weekend, whether you’re missing your dose of Wagamama, Nandos or Pret, the chains have been sharing a whole host of recipes on their social media pages. So why not recreate some of these recipes at home this bank holiday weekend.

Be sure to share with us on Facebook and Twitter @CGAPreston what you try out this weekend - have fun and stay safe!
