Tackling Dog Foul and Brightening Spaces in Deepdale
During a community pop up in Deepdale, tenants raised that dog foul in the area was a big issue. Tenants also told the team that the trees in the area seemed overgrown and were blocking out light and attracting anti-social behaviour.
An inspection of the neighbourhood by our Engagement and Communities officers confirmed a large amount of dog foul on the grassed areas of Gillet Street.
Taking this feedback onboard, our Engagement Team teamed up with the Environmental Services Team to install a dog foul bin on the grass.
Alongside this, trees have been cut down on Bleasdale Street East by our GreenCare Team with more works scheduled to improve the green space in the area, aiming to increase light and reduce anti-social gathering.
We are looking into the possibility of developing a wildlife garden to bring colour to the area and protect communal spaces from fly-tipping and dog foul.
