Create your own brick masterpieces with our free LEGO® club at Brockholes! Join us every Saturday throughout the summer holidays from the 18th to the 22nd August for a free LEGO® building session with lots of LEGO® provided.

Suitable for children of all ages and parents and carers are welcome to join in the fun.

Our LEGO® club tends to be very popular throughout school holidays so pre-booking is advised to avoid disappointment.

Design your own book cover using Procreate software with guidance from the team from the University of Lancashire's Young Creative Centre.

This session, run by the Young Creative Centre from the University of Lancashire, will look at what goes in to illustrating a book front cover and why these illustrations are an important part of book publication.

Participants will have the opportunity to use iPads to have a go at illustrating their own front covers.

They will be guided through the basics of using a digital illustration package to bring a story to life.

This session in Room No.9 is perfect for younger teens who have an interest in drawing and art, and those looking to get into illustration.

Taking place on Saturdays throughout the year, there's plenty of opportunity to rifle through records, tapes, CDs, and more, in search of that much-needed addition to your collection.

This Makers Market continues to take place on the second Saturday of each month on the Flag Market.

The Makers Market now also takes place on the newly-revitalised Friargate Brow, on the final Saturday of each month.

The event, which takes place across Lancashire, Manchester and Cheshire, has continued to grow in popularity in Preston, leading to organisers committing to a second date each month in the city centre.

Brockholes is a haven for Butterflies and Dragonflies at this time of year.

The Walk Leaders will take you to their best spots and provide you with some hints and tips on how to identify many of the common species found at Brockholes!

No experience or knowledge required. Aimed at complete beginners. The walk is at a gentle pace, with lots of stopping to view the species that we spot.

The event is aimed at adults, but interested children aged 11+ are welcome to book, but must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Pre-booking is required. Please note that booking closes at 4 pm the day before the event.

Come dressed for the weather conditions, wearing sturdy footwear.

Normal parking charges apply.

Come and meet the people and the birds from Lancashire Hawks and Owls, a private organisation that rescues and looks after birds of prey which cannot be returned to the wild.

At this event you'll have a chance to meet both the people and the birds they rescue!

All the birds of prey in the display are hand reared and totally approachable which means you can touch them and have your photo taken with them for a charge of £2 (cash only).

Preston City Wrestling is once again returning to the Flag Market for its twelfth year!

A great spectacle of match brawls outside in the summer sun, with a colourful display of strength and competitiveness.

This year will see fighters are yet to be announced, so keep an eye out for who wants to duke it out for the belt of glory!

Fat Cat Brass is a UK-based, high-energy, 6-piece modern brass band known for performing pop hits on stilts.

Featuring four horn players, a sousaphone, and two drummers, known for its unique, interactive, and fully acoustic roaming performances.

Ran by St Catherine's Hospice. An informal group where anyone can come and chat, have a brew, and talk to others about their loss, whether their loved one has died recently or some time ago. It runs from 10:00-11:30 am on the first Thursday of the month.

There’s no need to book, and if you would like to bring a friend along for a bit of support then please do.

It’s not a counselling group and there’s no set structure to it, but anyone who wishes to introduce themselves and tell their story is welcome to; or if you would prefer to sit and listen that’s fine too.

Open every Tuesday morning 10 am-12 noon, The Community Pantry is intended to give relief to individuals/families who find themselves in immediate need and require assistance in providing basic food items for their household.

Back by popular demand, Thrifty Kitchen is back, starting Friday 31st January.

These FREE one of cooking sessions run every Friday from 1-3:30pm, helping you learn new cooking skills in a welcoming group environment. Enjoy good food, have fun and socialise with others who all have the same interest of cooking.

All equipment and ingredients are provided.

Each September, thousands of volunteers across the country invite you to experience local history, architecture and culture, all for free.

Various buildings around the city centre will give you access and insight into their history, such as our very own Town Hall. There will also be guided walks around our lovely Winckley Square gardens with lots of history to see.
