Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Our Commitment Statement

Community Gateway Association recognises that Equality, Diversity and Inclusion play an important part in everything we do. As a locally based housing association, we are committed to serving the communities in which we operate. Our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is embedded in our strategies, practices, behaviours and values.

We embrace individuality and believe that our differences make us stronger as an organisation. By creating an inclusive and supportive environment where people can be themselves, we are better able to deliver high‑quality services and positive outcomes for our tenants.

We do not tolerate discrimination and we comply with the Equality Act 2010. We promote dignity and respect for all and treat people fairly and honestly regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

We know that everyone’s circumstances are different. By listening to our tenants and understanding your needs, we can provide services that are responsive, accessible and tailored to support you to live successfully in your home. We work to remove barriers that may make it difficult to access our services, information or homes.

If you need extra support or adjustments to help you access our services, we will work with you to put these in place where reasonable. You can find out more in our Vulnerability and Reasonable Adjustments Policy.

We want to get things right, but if you are unhappy with our service, we want to know. Your feedback helps us learn and improve. Our Complaints Policy explains:

    • how to tell us if something is wrong
    • how we will handle your complaint fairly and respectfully
    • how we will support you if you need help to make a complaint

You will not be treated unfairly for raising a concern or making a complaint.

Our approach to equality, diversity and inclusion is guided by our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, which sets out how we work to improve services and outcomes for our tenants.

We recognise that building an inclusive organisation is an ongoing process and is one that is central to the way we work. We are committed to listening to our tenants, learning from feedback and continuing to improve the way we work.
