Tackling Fly-Tipping and Dog Foul in Brookfield
During a community pop up in Brookfield, tenants raised that fly-tipping and dog foul on the grassed areas of Hawkshead Road were a big issue.
Tenants also shared that the communal area, which is accessible to the public, often attracted anti-social behaviour (ASB), causing tenants to feel unsafe.
Listening to this feedback, we spoke to tenants who agreed that fencing off the area from the public would improve safety and help them feel more secure in their homes and community.
In April, we worked with an external contractor to install a fence fitted with a coded lock so that only residents of the properties backing onto the greenspace have access. This approach also means that any further reports of dog foul in the space will be easier to investigate.
By working with tenants to address these local issues, we were able to create a cleaner, greener, safer space for tenants to enjoy and feel good about.
