Celebrating 20 Years - Brightening Up Spaces in Ingol

This year we are celebrating Community Gateway’s 20th birthday by giving back to our communities through 20 projects.

Our recent projects focused on areas in Ingol, including Barry Avenue and The Filberts, following tenant feedback during the Shape Your Space event in Ingol.

On Barry Avenue, tenants reported a rising issue of dog fouling and littering in the area, and a community walkabout from our Engagement Officers identified several areas with repeated incidents of dog fouling.

Over at our Independent Living Scheme, The Filberts, tenants shared that the outdoor communal areas were becoming run down, meaning less tenants were utilising the space to plant and socialise.

Acting on this feedback, our teams came together to carry out two separate community projects to improve the areas.

In June, teams from across CGA headed to Barry Avenue in an effort to address the issues raised. Together, we removed six bags of litter and spoke with local dog owners about the impact of dog fouling and handed out 15 pet care goody bags to help promote responsible pet ownership.

The day was a great opportunity to speak with local tenants about what matters most to them in their community and hear from them about how they would like us to continue to improve the area.

In August, we headed over to The Filberts to improve the outdoor communal areas. Over two days, our teams came together to brighten up benches and fences in the area with a fresh coat of paint. We also improved planting areas for tenants to use whilst planting flowers ourselves to add some colour to the space.

We want our tenants to live in well-kept neighbourhoods and be actively involved in making their communities better places to live. By sharing your feedback and experiences with us, we can continue to work together to make your communities cleaner, greener and safer for everyone to enjoy.

If you would like to get involved in any of our community improvement projects and help make your community an even better place to live, please complete the form below and we will be in touch.
