When a property becomes available, potential tenants are invited to Harbour House for a financial assessment. This includes reviewing bank statements, checking income, creating an income and expenditure to ensure rent affordability, and performing a benefit check to identify any extra support. Funds for upfront rent and essential items like carpets and flooring are also evaluated. Applicants receive detailed feedback on their assessment results, and successful applicants are then invited for property viewing and tenancy sign-up. The Tenancy Support Team can assist with benefit and grant applications for eligible applicants.

Home Contents Insurance
As your landlord, we insure the building and anything we provide, but we don’t cover your home’s contents and belongings. We highly recommend you arrange this cover once in your home, to protect your important belongings.
We've partnered with Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Ltd to provide a home contents insurance scheme only for tenants or leaseholders of Community Gateway Association. They offer a monthly policy, meaning you're only committing for one month at a time, and cover starts from as little as 45p per week, £1.47 per month, or a single upfront payment of £15.65 for 12 months of cover.*
If you'd like to find out more about this contents insurance scheme, head to our website here.
*Prices shown are for £4,000 of contents insurance cover, based on postcode area and include a transaction fee. They exclude accidental damage and optional covers. The price you pay will depend on your individual circumstances, postcode and cover chosen. (RSA price data June 2023.)
