Chair's Blog - November 2025

Our November Board meeting is always an important moment to reflect, plan and make decisions that shape the future of Community Gateway Association. Alongside our usual business, we set aside time to focus on future activities that will feed into next year’s annual business plan and beyond.

This year, we reviewed our half-year performance and discussed the wide range of challenges facing the housing sector and how we can manage these risks.

At our planning session which preceded the Board meeting, we reviewed key priorities, focusing on the safety, quality, energy efficiency and the pace of decarbonising our existing homes alongside our upcoming development projects.

Our goal is to make sure essential services, like responsive repairs and energy efficiency improvements continue to be delivered even during financially challenging times. Decisions will be made to uphold the objectives set out in our Corporate Plan.

With further economic updates expected from the Government, a further board planning session is scheduled for late January, to review our plans.

At the regular Board meeting, the Board heard from the Chief Executive about the Social and Affordable Homes Programme (the Government’s commitment and funding to deliver much needed new homes) and what to expect in the Government’s Autumn budget. We also received updates on our development programme, Repairs and Maintenance services and our wider Asset Management Programme.

Shape Your Space events have also launched across our communities, giving you the opportunity to share your aspirations for your local area including how to make areas safer, cleaner and greener.

As this is my final blog of the year, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported CGA throughout 2025. Every contribution, no matter how you get involved, helps us improve our services for you and your community. Wishing you a joyful festive season and a happy, healthy start to 2026.
