Our Plan for Moor Nook

Our community plans show how we will work with you to improve the places you live. Each plan is shaped by what matters most to you and reflects the priorities of your neighbourhood.

These plans are based on feedback from Shape Your Space events, pop-ups, surveys, day-to-day conversations, as well as what we see when we are out and about in your area.

What makes Moor Nook a great place to live?

“My daughter and grandson both attend the Moor Nook Youth Club and absolutely love it. The team work hard to provide a safe space, with loads of activities and events for children and young people. It’s brilliant to see how the youth hub helps get kids off the streets and gives them somewhere to go.”

“Grange Park is a lovely place. I really like spending time there and it’s great to have such a nice green space in the area.”

“The Friends of Billington Lodge group do a great job of putting the community first and running the Hub for the right reasons. It’s a welcoming space for everyone.”

“There’s a real community spirit in Moor Nook, everyone has each other’s back. The people are so friendly and it’s helped me settle in.”

What we have delivered in your area so far

Upcoming projects to improve your community

Unkempt Grass Verge Railings

Following feedback at the Shape Your Space, event, we will be painting and where needed, replacing railings across Moor Nook.

Dog fouling action and community clean-ups

Following feedback at the Shape Your Space event, we will be running a dog fouling action day and community clean-up in the area and look to install a new dog foul bin.

Improving Planters

Following feedback at the Shape Your Space event, we will clear overgrown planters on Burholme Road and see whether they need painting, repairing or replacing.

We will work with local community groups to help maintain them and work with Preston Vocational Centre to install additional planters.

Overgrown Greenspace

While out in your community, you told us that green spaces on Burholme Road are overgrown. Our GreenCare Team will improve these areas to make them more manageable and easier for tenants to enjoy.

If you would like to get involved in any of these community improvement projects and help make your community an even better place to live, please complete the form below and we will be in touch.
