Our Plan for City Centre

Our community plans show how we will work with you to improve the places you live. Each plan is shaped by what matters most to you and reflects the priorities of your neighbourhood.

These plans are based on feedback from Shape Your Space events, pop-ups, surveys, day-to-day conversations, as well as what we see when we are out and about in your area.

Dawson and Aughton Walk Action Day

Following concerns about fly-tipping and waste being dumped in communal areas at Dawson and Aughton Walk, in Preston City Centre, our Environmental Services team reached out to colleagues in the Engagement team to take coordinated action.

The Tenancy Management team had also seen an increase in reports regarding fly tipping in the area.

Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour on Ashmoor Street

As part of Neighbourhood Week of Action in 2024, the Engagement and Communities Officers and Tenancy Management team at Community Gateway joined forces with the Neighbourhood Policing Team to respond to concerns raised by tenants and residents about increasing anti-social behaviour (ASB) on Ashmoor Street in the City Centre.

Upcoming projects to improve your community

Day of Action on Egan and Agnes Street

Following your feedback, we will be working with teams across Community Gateway and the Neighbourhood Policing Team to carry out a day of action. The focus will be on addressing drug-related anti-social behaviour.

Fly Tipping

We will be addressing fly-tipping in the Edale Court and St Paul’s Road areas of the City Centre. Our approach will focus on working collaboratively with local organisations to tackle illegal fly tipping .

Connecting tenants to local groups

Following your feedback, we will be connecting tenants to local community groups and organisations. Tenants told us they don’t always know what is happening in their area. We will explore ways to raise awareness of what is available, help tenants get involved and support them to feel more connected to their communities.

If you would like to get involved in any of these community improvement projects and help make your community an even better place to live, please complete the form below and we will be in touch.
