  • Personal repairs inside your home
  • Big infrastructure outside our control (e.g. public roads, buses)

What we'll do next

  • We'll publish what we heard for each area, what we can do now, what needs planning or partners, and when things will happen

What makes Ingol a great place to live?

Claire's Kitchen

The café 'Claire's Kitchen' is fantastic, it brings the community together. The café is starting to do events for us and loyalty cards. It's really good value for money. More people are now coming down to the communal room/cafe.

Quite & Clean

It's quiet and clean. The people in the area are respectful and the majority of neighbours are respectful. There is good green spaces in the area.

Nice & Quiet

Nice Park (Ingol Dip, it's quiet, I use the Intact Centre for food support as well as the local shops and the library, petrol station and St Margaret's church for support.

Intact Centre

I utilise the Intact Centre for social events like bingo etc. I use the Tanterton Centre for events, games and trips. I also use Ingol Library for the knitting group and Haslam Park for walks.

The Courtyards

It's very quiet and secure at The Courtyards with carers 24/7. The office staff are very good and helpful. There are lot's of activities going on at The Courtyards, including bingo, cinema, coffee mornings and crafts.

Lane Ends Park

I walk my dog at the local park and it is well kept. The area is quiet, and I have not experienced any problems with anti-social behaviour.

Keep doing what you do!
  • The Intact Centre (Pantry every Thursday, visits to the café, and they expressed an interest in joining the cookery course.
  • Chapelfold sheltered scheme and The Courtyards; the schemes bring everybody together, and we go to the coffee morning at Chapelfold weekly.
  • We are going to Blackburn with St Bernards Hub (Larches). They have no suggestions other than to keep doing what we do. They respect CGA and IL service at The Courtyards is responsive. The manager is helpful and caring.
Lack of joined up working
  • There are lots of facilities, but there is a lack of joined-up working.
  • North - Tanterton village centre: chair aerobics, gentle aerobics, brunch club, friendship group and children's Taekwondo. The Garden has been developed behind the village hall, and they are looking for volunteers for the garden club.
  • South - Tanterton Christian Centre, Haslam Park/Bexhill Road/ Cottam Lane. (Re point 2) The Intact Centre, Tanterton Village Centre, Ingol Social Club, 2 primary schools, Tom Finney football group - UCLAN. Unite meetings to bring groups together

What should we focus on?

Barry Avenue Car Park
  • Could the grass area on Barry Avenue by the first block of flats be made into a resident car park. There are parking issues and cars have to park them on the side of the road mounting the pavement and causing lots of damage.
Dog Fouling
  • Dog fouling - by residents who refuse to pick up after their pets when challenged.
External Improvements
  • Could we look to brighten up some of the external walls on the flats, they are all starting to look grimy.
  • The area around Tanterton Village Centre is falling into disrepair and detracting from the good work that is being done elsewhere.
Communal Spaces
  • More planting in green spaces X3
  • Community litter picks would be beneficial
  • Could more benches be added to the area
Anti Social Behaviour
  • Drug dealing is a problem around Ingol and Tanterton shops
  • Adults congregating late at night in car parks and it is unsettling.
Courtyards Green Spaces
  • I would like to see Greencare improve their services at The Courtyards - for example, weeding, planting and pruning all year-round. Currently, it's just me doing it.
