At Community Gateway Association, we are committed to keeping you safe, that is why we are proud to support this year’s Gas Safety Week 2025, taking place from 8th to 14th September.
This year’s theme ‘Looking after your home, friends and family’ emphasises the importance of gas safety. Whether that is checking your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are working or scheduling your annual gas safety check, every check is crucial in keeping your home, family and neighbours safe.
Why is Gas Safety so Important?
Faulty or poorly maintained gas appliances can put you at risk from carbon monoxide poisoning, gas leaks, fires and explosions. Carbon monoxide is an odourless, colourless gas that can be deadly or cause serious long-term health problems.
That is why it is so important that you arrange to let us in your home to do the yearly Gas Safety check. We will write to you at least two weeks before your appointment to confirm a date and time.
If the appointment is not convenient, you can call us on 0800 953 0213 (option 1) or visit www.communitygateway.co.uk/amend-repairs-appointment to arrange a different date and time. We will send you a text the day before the appointment, to remind you of the time and we will also text you before we set off to visit your home.
The Impact of No Access
If you repeatedly avoid or refuse access to your property for your annual gas safety check, we will take legal action and you could be charged with the costs.
No access creates several issues, including:
What to do if you smell gas?
If you have any concerns about your gas appliances, or if it is time for your annual gas safety check, do not hesitate to get in touch with us. We are here to provide support and advice to help keep you and your family safe.
