Tenants trained at Trafford Hall

Recently some of our involved residents visited Trafford Hall, in Chester, to take part in a training day focussing on empowering tenants within their communities. Keeping tenants' voices at the heart of what we do is what we live and breathe at CGA, so it was great to catch up with those that went along to hear how it went.

Sessions throughout the day covered event planning, involving the community in a range of projects as well as empowering tenants.

David, one of our involved tenants and attendee, explained,

“The aim of the course was to look at how we can communicate the aims and functions of our housing association to the wider community. In our first session, we talked about developing a vision for our communities and ways we could bring communities together. In the final session, we thought about Action Planning and how we could draw up plans to improve our communities.”

Other residents that attended said:

“It's got to be said, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was fascinating meeting so many diverse people from different areas, backgrounds and levels of involvement in the housing sector.”

- Wren

“I met new people whose Housing Associations had a few hundred to 90,000 homes and all had some good ideas. The trainer was very helpful and knew an answer to every question.”

- Pam

This is one of many engaging courses that our Members have been on, each with the aim of finding ways they can help positively impact the community in Preston. If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, get in touch with our Community Empowerment Team on get.involved@communitygateway.co.uk.

We look forward to hearing from you!
