The Purple Pantry was a huge success last week with 44 new members signing up to receive high quality food, giving us a grand total of 567 Purple Pantry memberships to date. We also held our very first Saturday opening with a spooky twist. The Pantry was decorated with cobwebs and skeletons and we asked families to bring their children along in fancy dress.
The children got super creative with their costumes, so we decided to choose a winner for the ‘Best Halloween Costume’. It was a very hard decision, but the winner was…
Amelia, whose costume was inspired by Mexico’s Day of the Dead!
Amelia collected her prize later this week and everyone else who dressed up received Halloween treats, plus a pumpkin to carve when they got home. See the bottom of the article for all competition entries.
The Community Engagement team also consulted with customers and the local community to find out what they wanted to see happen with the Moor Nook Allotments and Sion Park Community Hub, we will be sharing the results and feedback from the survey in the coming weeks.
We’d like to say a special thank you to our fabulous colleagues who helped at the Pantry on Saturday. They did a Spooktacular job decorating and running the very first Saturday Purple Pantry.
