Join our Tenant Scrutiny Group
Community Gateway has tenant involvement at the heart of everything it does and we are currently looking for tenants who are interested in helping us to shape and improve services for tenants and the community by becoming a Tenant Scrutiny Group Member.
This will be an exciting and interesting role with lots of opportunities to learn all about how Community Gateway works and make recommendations to help us improve our services. If you are selected you will be scrutinising a range of issues including how homes and neighbourhoods owned by Community Gateway are managed, and how we work with our communities.
What is the role of the Tenant Scrutiny Group?
Your role will be to look into specific topic areas and make suggestions for how improvements can be made to benefit Community Gateways tenants and the wider community.
The Community Gateway Model
Community Gateway recognises that it is difficult to make neighbourhoods function well without the active participation of the tenants and communities who live there.
CGA understands that tenants know their housing and community needs better than anyone else, and that listening and responding to tenant’s voices is the right thing to do.
Am I the right person to join the Tenant Scrutiny Group?
There is no one thing that will make someone right for the Tenant Scrutiny Group everyone will have personal qualities they can bring. Do you:
- Have a genuine interest in helping Community Gateway to improve its services?
- Like being part of a team?
- Like asking relevant questions to understand an issue?
- Like creative thinking?
- Like meeting new people?
If you answered yes to the above than this opportunity could be right for you.
How much time would I need to commit?
The Group will carry out around 4 reviews per year, with reviews taking around 8 – 10 weeks to complete and members of the group will meet around once a week for a couple of hours during this period. Tenant Scrutiny Group members do not need to take part in every review, however it is expected that members will participate in at least one review per year.
Are Tenant Scrutiny Group Members paid?
No, the role is unpaid and voluntary although reasonable expenses are paid, including travel.
