Community Gateway Association is a delivery partner in the Invest in Youth and Changing Futures projects in Lancashire. These projects are part of the nationwide Building Better Opportunities programme that brings together funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF) to help tackle the poverty and social exclusion faced by the most disadvantaged people in England.

  • Invest in Youth supports young people who are aged 15–24 and who are unemployed or economically inactive. This includes those not in education, employment or training and will help to improve their skills and employability. It focuses on participants with mental or physical health difficulties, who are homeless, have disabilities or may be full-time carers.
  • Changing Futures aims to transform the futures of people of all ages over 15 who face multiple and complex barriers to employment. All participants are unemployed or economically inactive and at high risk of social exclusion, such as people from BAME communities, carers, people with physical or mental health problems and people with learning difficulties.

We are also a delivery partner in More Positive Together – supporting residents to improve their skills and employment prospects. Eligible residents receive a tailored programme of 1-to-1 mentoring, physical activity sessions, training courses, employment advice and work experience opportunities. The project is led by Lancashire Sport Partnership and supported by funding from the European Social Fund.
