We want our tenants to live in well-kept neighbourhoods and be involved in making their communities better places to live. Following feedback from tenants, we recently completed a long-standing clean-up project in Fishwick that has made a lasting difference to the local community.
A large area of land behind several properties had become a fly-tip hotspot and overrun with invasive weeds. The project set out to remove the fly-tip and restore the space to a clean and safe condition for tenants.
The clean-up took several weeks, as the weeds grew rapidly when disturbed. Once the weeds were under control, we worked with our partners SCS FM and Trunks Tree Care LTD to treat the weeds and remove the fly-tip. The clean-up was extensive and included the removal of a shipping container full of large fly-tip items and tackled other significant waste across the site.
To prevent future issues, anti-climb gates have been installed and the area will be regularly monitored to ensure the greenspace remains clean and safe.
