Gateway Central Blog - August 2025

Written by Community Gateway | Monday 25 August 2025

It was another busy meeting at Gateway Central, so here’s a quick round-up of what we covered.

We were joined by members of the Executive Leadership Team, who explained the new structure for the Tenant Voice groups following the recent consultation with ourselves. These changes are about making sure our voices as tenants are heard clearly and effectively at every level.

We had an update on the Community Empowerment Strategy and Community Investment Strategy. One of our main roles as a committee is to ensure Community Gateway are effectively delivering against these strategies. By providing a range of involvement opportunities we were pleased to hear that they are successfully hearing from a range of tenants. From Spotlights and Tenant Talk sessions to local events, it’s been fantastic to see so many people getting involved, learning more about services and sharing their views. We also received an update on the improvements made to the CGA website which included the addition of a new chatbot (TESS). It’s great to see the website is now more accessible with different language needs.

Between April and June (Q1), a range of projects and activities were delivered through Gateway2You – bringing community support right into our neighbourhoods. As a committee we discussed how CGA can increase attendance at such events, and we agreed for the Community Engagement Team to trial a new format over the winter months, recommending larger scale events in each community.

We looked at the first review of the 2024–25 investment strategy. We also heard from the Head of Service Improvement, who presented the Q1 Insight Report. As I mentioned in my last blog, CGA has been working hard to improve in key areas such as non-emergency repairs and the time it takes to let empty properties. I’m pleased to report those improvements have continued into Q1.

Finally, it was time for our own annual review. From time to time, committees like ours look at how effective we are. Our main focus now is how we can become even more effective in line with the Regulator’s Consumer Standards. Members also took part in discussions on the committee’s structure, ensuring we are well-prepared and ready to meet the requirements set by the regulator.
