This year we are celebrating Community Gateway’s 20th birthday by giving back to our communities through 20 projects.
In our latest project, we joined forces with Red Rose Recovery and Preston City Council to tackle concerns around litter and waste around Newton Street in the City Centre.
We received reports from tenants about fly-tipping and anti-social behaviour in the area. Working with Preston City Council, we also became aware of issues with local waste bins that were overflowing, becoming unsightly and causing a foul smell.
Acting on this feedback, our teams rolled up their sleeves and completed a community litter pick. Together with the help from our partners and volunteers who joined in to help, we were able to:
This project is a great example of the ways we are working with partners and tenants to create cleaner, greener and safer communities where tenants are proud to live.
We hope that residents will continue to use the improved waste facilities to help keep the area clean and safe for everyone.
