CGA manages more than 400 sheltered housing homes designed to meet the needs of the over-60s. Most of these properties are self-contained flats and bungalows. All were refurbished in 2010/11 and the accommodation, communal areas and scheme centres are all finished to a high standard.
Living in sheltered housing allows you to maximise your independence and continue to live an active and fulfilling life as you grow older knowing that support is always available 24/7, 365 days a year. Many of our residents have a varied and stimulating lifestyle with the choice of either mixing with other people of a similar age or spending time privately in their own home.
Who can apply?
Applicants for sheltered housing must normally be single or a couple 60 years and above. However depending on support needs and personal circumstances consideration may be given to those between 55 and 60 years of age. Applicants should be able to live independently with a low to medium level of assistance, have a housing need and have support needs that cannot be met in their current home.
