Someone looking for a homeIn this section of the site, you can find out about options to rent a home, rent a garage, swap homes or buy your CGA tenancy.

People looking for a new home in Preston and the surrounding area have three main options:

Finding a new home through the CGA's Select Move service

Visit the Select Move website

The Community Gateway Association's Select Move service helps people make their next move to a CGA home as quickly and easily as possible. Here's how it works:

Step 1 - The customer fills in an application form and registers with Select Move

Step 2 - They are put on a list (called a 'band') of people wanting to move home

Step 3 - Lists of homes to rent are published in the Select Move at Deltic House and on the Select Move website

Step 4 - The information on available homes will be updated on a weekly basis and available every Friday at Midnight you may choose up to 5 homes in each cycle.

Step 5 - If only one person has shown an interest in a property and they are suitable, they'll get an offer.

If more than one person is interested in a home, the customer who most closely matches the property requirements will get the offer.

If more than one person is still suitable, the person registered with Select Move the longest will be successful.

If you are require any assistance or advice to access Select Move, our Applicant Support Officer is available to help.
